Aging Exercise #3:
"New School" Weight Training

Wait just a moment! Weight training? "Don't both of you lift weights, Steve?" Yes, both Becky and I do a FORM of weight training. It's our "ageless exercise" style we call F4X. I'll share how to do it on the following pages.

However, F4X "Ageless Exercises" are entirely different than regular "new school" weight training. And the routines you see in most magazines, as well as those prescribed by most fitness trainers, are not what's needed if you want to look and feel younger.

After seeing every routine you can think of for more than a quarter century, Becky and I can put 99% of all weight training into two camps. The first camp is what trainers love to recommend to us "old folks": light weights with a lot of repetitions. The second camp is the weekend warriors: go hard, then go home… for a long time!

The first camp might as well be lifting AIR. Your muscles don't know how old you are… but they can tell how much resistance you're giving them. If you treat your muscles like delicate little flowers, your body will never change.

Your muscles need very short but very targeted resistance that's sufficient to tell your brain, "Hey, I'm not ready to grow old. I need to hunt and gather!" This age-defying signal tells your brain to secrete hormones that tone and shape your body...and make you feel much younger. But super-light weights done for endless reps will never get the job done.

Then again, you want to avoid the "Weekend Warrior" approach: lifting far too much weight and spending the next 4-7 days on the couch. Too much is dangerous. Not enough resistance (and too many days per week) will cause your muscles to wither away… and nothing ages you faster than decaying muscle tissue.

Our F4X System blends weight training with ageless exercise protocols to ensure you slow the aging process while you lose weight and shape up.

More about that on the next page…
