Aging Exercise #4:
CrossFit

If you've never heard of CrossFit, good. You can take a pass on this part and go to the next page. If you have, or if you've tried it, let me save you years of frustration: it doesn't work.
Now, CrossFit CAN give you a bit more cardiovascular health. And if you're under 40, it can get you in pretty good shape overall… if you're willing to put in the 3-4 hours per week required. However, for those of us over 40? Forget it. CrossFit will double-cross you… and here's why.
First, CrossFit features highly ballistic movements. Ballistic movements wear out the joints: your knees, neck, elbows, wrists, and low back. All five of these joints are absolutely critical if you want to look and feel younger.
The vast majority of folks over 40 complain about neck and back pain. The majority of this pain doesn't come from work...it comes from ballistic movements. You don't have to be exercising to move in a ballistic fashion. Becky and I talk about this in our "ageless exercise" manual, Old School, New Body. I'll make sure you can get a copy on the following page.
Next, CrossFit takes far too long. A common theme in these aging exercises has been time. What folks like us need—men and women over 40—is a way to exercise that requires far less time, while delivering superior anti-aging results. The only way to pull this off is through greater efficiency of motion.
CrossFit, and most workouts, are simply inefficient. They demand far too much energy. That energy drain comes at the expense of your brain, your heart, and other internal organs.
I'll cover more on the next page… plus introduce you to a far better solution...
